The Brookside Hotel should be a piece of American History. Every year my Grandfather Daniel Bloom used to host a family reunion at the Brookside Hotel as we lived in Staten Island & Brooklyn, NY. I learned how to swim in your indoor swimming pool. I remember going into the kitchen to meet my “Uncle Joey” who was the Pastry Chef. Being able to stay up late to watch several acts at the night club. Spending hours playing pool and the different arcade games. There was something for everyone of all age groups.
I remember there was always a photographer around and on Sunday Mornings you could purchase those little key chain picture viewers.
We used to leave early Friday morning to drive up to the Catskills and leave Sunday morning after having breakfast. We were there for about 4 years in a row one weekend a year.
